I was not always an advocate for makeup. Growing up my mom taught me that wearing too much of makeup could cause more damage to your skin. For many years, I thought lipstick was the be all and end all of makeup. One day I discovered a different way to use kohl on my eyelids. Each time I wore a combination of kohl, mascara and blue eye-shadow, it made me feel like a sexy queen.

My mother’s warning about makeup, created an awareness of the brand names I purchase. To this very day, I do not dare venture out utilizing just any unauthentic brand of makeup. When I do purchase makeup, it has to be the real deal. Authentic branded makeup has transformed my life in many ways.

I can tell you with utmost certainty that makeup has miraculous effects on the lives of many women. Not all woman are born with perfect skin. Some suffer all their lives with acne and scars. Makeup brings confidence to women with embarrassing skin problems. For many women the thought of going bare skinned, is terrifying. 

Ask women who suffer from depression or social anxiety, one who has just had a baby or one who is experiencing chemotherapy, what is the one thing that gives her confidence. You probably already know the answer to this. Bright Red lipstick. There are life changes which women often go through and the only companion we have that sticks by us, is makeup.

• Ask a woman with cancer to tell you how false lashes helped her feel like a human being when all her hair fell off including her brows and lashes.

• Ask a woman who has just had a baby how lipstick gave her, her mojo back when she felt fat and ugly.

• Ask a woman with freckles and pigmentation how foundation helps cover up those unwanted marks.

• Ask a teen with terrible acne how the right combination of makeup can return her confidence and hide the scars which she feels self-conscious about.

If the power and confidence which is brought on from the makeup she wears is not a miracle in itself, I don’t know what is!  As long as you do not compromise on the quality of the makeup you use, you will be fine.  Make sure that when you do purchase designer branded makeup, that it’s authentic.
